The call for the formation of Intersessional Working Groups – IWGs – for the Latin American and Caribbean Internet Governance Forum is open until June 30, 2024..
This is a call to all individuals and groups interested in contributing innovative, relevant and pertinent ideas that drive the development and evolution of our digital space.
The Internet Governance Forum has become a fundamental space for inclusive dialogue and collaboration between diverse actors, including governments, civil society, private sector, technical and academic community. Intersessional Committees play a crucial role in facilitating in-depth discussions on crucial issues affecting the present and future of the Internet.
What are we searching for?
The Working Groups constitute the core of the intersessional spaces between the annual LACIGF meetings.
We seek to foster discussions that address emerging issues, persistent challenges and future opportunities in the area of internet governance. The themes selected for this year’s work are:
Each IWG must be presented by at least 2 different sectors, and will have as leadership figures at least 2 co-coordinators representing two different sectors.
The IWG must work periodically and be open to the participation of all sectors, documenting and publishing their progress.
The presentation of an annual work plan is requested, which will be taken into account for the selection of the IWG.
The IWG must produce an annual report that incorporates findings (opportunities, challenges, trends), work progress and conclusions in accordance with the reporting format that will be required by the CMPI.
